Star Raiders

Salvador Norman

Age-49
Height-6’3″ (1.95m).

Born on a small Steiner world in 3014, commander Salvador is not a man of many words. But in the orders he gives, there is a deliberate tone of certainty. He might seem like a cruel man, but that’s what one has to sacrifice to have the respect their unit. His father, as well as himself, fought in the Clan invasion and operation bulldog. After all his father was in the Comguards. He does not like to talk about his past and the perils he has overcome. Nonetheless, he is a good man. His family heirloom is a Comguards uniform as well as an ancient Champion battle-mech that is as old as the star league. Being such a relic, the 60-ton mech is hard to fix, but its weapons are more than a match for any larger heavy mechs.

Elena Crawford

Age-30
Height-5’7″ (1.75m).

Don’t let her looks fool you. Elena is a fierce shot and a top-notch Mechwarrior. She is a gentle person who dose not always understand the need for all the violence, but she holds her ground when necessary. Her childhood is a mystery to the rest of the crew, but it does not seem to have been great. She does not usually talk about her feelings, nor does she like to. She understands the universe has no place for the weak, a powers on. She made it through her darkest times, nothing can stop her now. At least, that’s what she tells herself. She pilots a Grand Dragon. A 60-ton heavy might seem on the smaller side, but her aim with the PPC and piloting skill more than makes up for the low tonnage of the heavy battle-mech.

Ramon Cortez

Age-29
Height-5’5″ (1.70m).

Ramon is what many people would refer to as a prick. He is rude and unfriendly to most of his team. Sometimes he frames rude gestures as a joke or a jab at his lance mates or other personnel on the dropship, but these jokes are rarely taken at face value as everyone knows that this is just how he acts. When his brother exiled him from his home, he felt betrayed, and some speculate that this is why he acts like an asshole to everyone he meets and talks to, as he can’t shake feeling like he is responsible for what happened but does not want to give in to such feelings of inferiority. He pilots a Bushwacker. A great medium battle-mech that can pack a punch, literally.

Roy Howard

Age-26
Height-6’1″ (1.88m).

Roy is a stubborn young man. When he was a kid, he promised himself he would be like his father when he grew up. A Mechwarrior and a great one at that. As we all know, dreams rarely come true. He is now a merc pilot fighting for the highest bid. He disagrees with the mercenary code that Salvador holds. He is a warrior but not a killer. Rarely will he fire at someone who can’t fire back. Not because he is stupid or a pacifist. But something inside him tells him that would be wrong. He pilots a 35-ton Jenner. A great light battle-mech that can hold its own even against some smaller mediums. He might not be the best shot around, but he can he pilot that Jenner like the devil himself is chasing him.

Cassandra Reese

Age-28
Height-5’9″ (1.80m).

Cassandra originates from the Free World’s League. She studied advanced electronics and was thus shunned from the rest of her family, that are all in the medical profession. Undeterred by this setback, she set out to prove that she could make it in life and not be overshadowed by her siblings. She joined the S.S.R quite recently and so is the newest member of the team. She might seem easily angered, but this is because she is in a constant state of boredom. She finds the job of communications officer boring, but this is what she signed up for. So she does her best and pushes forward. After all, the best part about being a communications officer is that if there is no action, one can just sit on their post and watch love dramas on the holovid.

Vitaliy Semenov

Age-59
Height-6’4″ (1.98m).

Vitaly grew up in Kurita space at the turn of the century. He was a pilot for the Draconis combine and participated in many battles during the third and fourth succession wars. He met Salvador before the clan invasion once he left the DCMS, and the two have been friends ever since. When Salvador created the S.S.R, he called Vitaliy to be his dropship captain. An offer that Vitaliy accepted immediately. He lost one of his eyes in a dogfight in 3028, but he rarely talks about these war stories. Above all else, he is a great dropship captain, as one should be after so many years of brutal fighting.

Curtis Nunes

Age-61
Height-5’3″ (1.59m).

Curtis grew up on a farm in a small agricultural world in the Liran commonwealth. His days as a young adult were spent repairing the equipment used on the farm. He would have never dreamed of joining the army. But when the third succession war started to heat up, he was offered a mechanic position in the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces. 25 years later, he was still fixing battlemechs in the Battle of Twycross against clan Jade Falcon. He enjoyed his years in the Steiner war machine, but he states that he hated the endless tides of bureaucracy and political garbage that came with being in a house army. This is why when Salvador approached him for a job on a new merc company that he was building, Curtis accepted immediately with his mech tech team.

Merc Unit

Mercenary unit – S.S.R Salvador’s Star Raiders.

Salvador Norman created this unit with the money his family left him as an inheritance. It started with a single mech and a Lung Wang assault transport dropship but slowly expanded to the unit we see today. This unit does not hold any land under their name and is, in all incense and purposes, a very small merc unit. They operate in the Free Worlds League systems but head out to Steiner space occasionally. As of the time of writing (beginning of this comic), the unit has grown to include four mechs and the previously mentioned Lung Wang class dropship with its accompanying crew.
